Consumer Advisory Group (CAG)
The Consumer Advisory Group (CAG) gives people who use mental health services (consumers) and their carers, greater say about the way these mental health services operate by:
- Finding out from us, our own needs, important issues and points of view
- Appointing some of us to attend meetings with them to improve services by making our suggestions, complaints and compliments.
- Advising, supporting and gathering information for the members representing us so that our unique points of view are heard at these meetings
- Gathering our viewpoints on specific needs and issues when asked by Mental Health Staff
- Doing other things like lobbying, educating, advocating, to meet our needs
Who Can Join CAG?CONSUMERS: People who are current, past or eligible users of mental health services (public or private) and/or their CARERS: A family member or close friend who has primary caring responsibility for a consumer. How Can I Be a Part of CAG?
