Adult Literacy and Numeracy Programs
The George Street Neighbourhood Centre provides literacy and numeracy programs for adult learners. These programs help both men and women to:
- Build their literacy and numeracy skills
- Improve their employment prospects
- Participate fully in community life
- Access tertiary study and vocational courses
Programs for Men
Where:
Oz Care Mackay Hostel

Saturday
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Programs for Women
Where: Samaritan House Drop in Centre
When: Friday
9:.30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
No classes are conducted during school holidays.
Programs for Adults from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Backgrounds
Training is available for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, particularly non-English speaking backgrounds (NESB).
Where: George Street Neighbourhood Centre
When: Monday and Tuesday 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
No classes are conducted on public holidays or during school holidays
