The Mackay Regional Financial Counselling Service delivers financial counselling throughout the Mackay region: Mackay City, Belyando, Bowen, Broadsound, Mirani, Nebo, Sarina and Whitsunday.

Providing support, information, options and advocacy to individuals, families and small business operators experiencing personal financial difficulties due to circumstances such as unemployment, sickness, credit over commitment and family breakdown.

What Financial Counsellors Do

Financial counsellors provide support, information, options and advocacy through:

listening to your personal financial concerns
providing personal money management information and options for financial difficulties including bankruptcy and its alternatives
assisting with creditor negotiations
referring to other services

Financial counsellors do not:

provide business planning
recommend financial products
complete taxation returns
