The Mackay Regional Financial Counselling Service delivers financial counselling throughout the Mackay, Whitsunday and Issac regions.

We provide support, information, options and advocacy to individual and families experiencing personal financial difficulties due to circumstances such as unemployment, sickness, credit over commitment, family breakdown and credit dispute.

We provide basic budgeting workshops on a regular basis.

What Financial Counsellors Do

Financial counsellors provide support, information, options and advocacy through:

listening to your personal financial concerns
providing personal money management information and options for financial difficulties including bankruptcy and its alternatives
assisting with creditor negotiations
referring to other services

Financial counsellors do not:

provide business planning
recommend financial products
complete taxation returns
