Mackay Regional Financial Counselling Service Resource Directory for Sugar Industry Stakeholders

Under the Sugar Industry Reform Program, the Mackay Regional Financial Counselling Service provides financial counselling to sugar industry stakeholders who are experiencing personal financial difficulties.

This resource directory provides information about various organisations and programs that may be of assistance. The directory is provided with the support of the Australian Government through the Commonwealth Financial Counselling Program.

What Financial Counsellors Do

Financial counsellors provide support, information, options and advocacy through:

listening to your personal financial concerns
providing personal money management information and options for financial difficulties including bankruptcy and its alternatives
assisting with creditor negotiations
referring to other services

Financial counsellors do not:

provide business planning
recommend financial products
complete taxation returns
